Week 45 Day 3

Plant Yourself in the Truth

When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

John 16:13

Thine inward teaching make me know

The mysteries of redeeming love,

The emptiness of things below,

And excellence of things above.

Is your life planted on solid ground? Do you know what you stand for and why? Understanding what you believe and why you believe it is vital to achieving success in life. If you’re not sure what you believe, you’re destined to become a follower rather than a leader. You can’t lead if you don’t know where you’re going. And you can’t know where you’re going if you have no idea where you’ve been or where you are. Abraham Lincoln was a principled man. “I planted myself upon the truth and the truth only, so far as I knew it or could be brought to know it,” he wrote. His views on freedom, justice, and liberty were rooted deep in the origins of the United States, in the Constitution, and in the Bible. Because he was so sure of himself, all of those who weren’t so sure were glad to follow.
