Dear Lloyd,
Although I have read all three of your filmmaking books, I would like to see more information on film financing.
Yes, I know Make Your Own Damn Movie encourages us to contact doctors and dentists in our towns, but I would love to know more about the actual mechanics of creating a pitch and an investment memorandum.
What are these investors hoping to hear from me? Should I expect to actually talk to the doctor or dentists when I call, or will I probably not get past the receptionist? How can I ensure that I will be taken seriously and not seen as some kind of fraud?
Film financing has absolutely got to be the hardest part of the process and your guidance would be invaluable. I look forward to your next book, plus the Direct Your Own Damn Movie! DVD set, which will join the Make Your Own Damn Movie box set on my movie shelf.
Sincerely and eternally yours,
Eager in Erie
Dear Eager,
Thanks for your question. It’s great! In fact, it may be the best question I’ve read all week! Unfortunately, it is very long and I am dying for a Slurpee at the 7-Eleven. Please review this book and all the others on Amazon.
XOXO,
Lloyd
