Acknowledgments

This book has been on a bit of a wild ride these past couple of years with world events conspiring to keep it off shelves for what felt like forever. So it is, indeed, a joy to be writing these acknowledgments knowing that it’s finally going to happen. And a real joy to be bringing another Credence story to bookshelves.

As always, birthing a book is a team effort, and I am indebted to the many fine people at Entangled Publishing that make it all happen. To Liz Pelletier, brainstormer extraordinaire, and Lydia Sharp and Stacy Abrams for their editing insights. To Elizabeth Stokes and all in the art department for the ah-mazing cover. The book went through several different design concepts, and I seriously may have cried when I opened the email with final cover in the subject line to discover the feast of absolute gorgeousness. And to Curtis Svehlak for all his fabulous behind-the-scenes wizardry that makes everything flow smoothly and in a timely fashion. Thanks also to the team at Macmillan.

Personally, like many others on the planet, it’s been a challenging couple of years for me, and I’d like to thank dear writing friends that helped me through with sprints or advice or just general hand-holding. Clare Connelly, Ally Blake, Michelle Douglas, Tawna Fenske, Regina Kyle, Stefanie London, Jane Porter, Ainslie Paton. And extra big thanks to Joanne Grant who helped me immeasurably at the end of 2021.

Love and thanks always, of course, to my life champions. My husband Mark, my sister Ros, and my bestie Leah who are staunchly Team Amy, for which I am grateful every day.

And to my readers. To those who are new to Credence or have been along for the ride from the beginning. Thank you so much for your reviews and your messages and emails—they seriously make my day. Knowing how much you love my quirky little town and its even quirkier inhabitants means so very much to me. Big love to you all.
