For each side, make one for each multiple of 5 stitches, plus two.
Ch 4, join with slip st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc in ring — 12 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around, join with slip st to top of ch-3 — 24 dc. Fasten off.
BORDER
Base rnd, each side: Multiple of 5 + 1 + corner sts.
Begin 1 st to left of corner st.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st around, placing 5 dc in each corner st, join with slip st to top of ch-3.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st and next 2 dc; drop st from hook, insert hook from front to back through any edge stitch on first disk and into dropped st, pull dropped st through — join made, *[sc in next 5 dc, join next disk] to corner st, 3 sc in corner st, join next disk; rep from * around, ending last rep with sc in next 2 dc, join with slip st to first sc.
