The Special Forces of the High Command (FEAM) of Mexico, also known as the Special Air and Ground Forces (FEAT), are an elite special operations unit within the Mexican Army. Established to address complex threats and carry out high-risk missions, FEAMs excel in their ability to operate in diverse environments and meet significant tactical challenges.
The FEAM are made up of highly trained and motivated soldiers, selected from the ranks of the Mexican Army. The selection and training process is rigorous and designed to evaluate physical fitness, tactical skills, mental toughness and the ability to work as a team under pressure. Only the most qualified and dedicated soldiers are chosen to be part of this elite unit.
FEAM training covers a wide range of specialized disciplines, including advanced combat techniques, weapons and explosives handling, assault and rescue tactics, infiltration and exfiltration operations, survival in different operational environments and intelligence skills. Members of the unit are prepared to operate anywhere, from urban areas to mountainous regions and dense jungles, adapting to changing battlefield conditions.
The FEAM's primary responsibilities include operations against organized crime, drug trafficking and terrorism, as well as the protection of critical infrastructure and assistance in natural disasters. The unit also participates in border security operations and in support of law enforcement in conflict areas.
Throughout its history, the FEAM have demonstrated a high level of professionalism and effectiveness in fulfilling their missions. The unit works closely with security agencies and special forces of other countries, participating in joint exercises and international operations to strengthen regional cooperation and the exchange of best practices in the field of special operations.
