BC = Before Christ. The creator of this calendar got the date of Jesus’ birth wrong by perhaps six years or more. King Herod, who tried to kill the baby Jesus by slaughtering all Bethlehem boys age two and under, died in 4 BC.
AD = Anno Domini. That’s Latin for “in the year of the Lord.”
