QRS. Founded in 1900, QRS was created as a partner business for a piano company to manufacture piano rolls. QRS served as an important component toward preserving the Stride, Ragtime, and Early Jazz piano styles when it made piano rolls of famous pianists including James P. Johnson and Fats Waller.

QUINTETTE DE HOT CLUB DE FRANCE. A jazz group affiliated with the popular 1930s French jazz club, the Hot Club de France. Violinist Stéphane Grappelli and guitarist Django Reinhardt played prominent roles in the creation of the group, which lasted until 1949. Despite occasional absences of Grappelli and Reinhardt, they remained the only consistent members in the group, as other positions in the group were filled by several different musicians. The Quintette du Hot Club de France was a pioneering group for jazz and helped establish France as a leader of jazz music.
