Oh. My. Ghoul! Zappit is missing! After such a long day in the lab yesterday, Mom let me sleep late this morning so I could be totally recharged for school. I woke up to the sound of Watzit’s yapping. He was whining at the foot of my bed and tugging at my covers, so I got up and followed him. He led me to Zappit’s charging station, and that’s when I saw that she was gone!
The only thing Dad and I can figure out is that my new creation must have wandered off sometime in the night. This is a voltageous fail! I never should have taken my eyes off her. Watzit has spent the whole morning right by my side, and I’m so glad—there’s no way I’m going to let my pet out of my sight. I’ve already lost one of my dear pets; I can’t possibly risk losing another.
I texted my ghoulfriends, and they all offered to spend the day helping me look for Zappit. Watzit is going to come along in case he can help track her scent. Dad’s taking the day off from working in the lab so he and Mom can search too.
On top of being so worried about poor Zappit, I’m also worried about what will happen when I turn up at school tomorrow without having a finished assignment. Showing off Zappit was the beast part of my whole presentation—without her, it won’t be nearly as special. What’s a ghoul to do?
