Getting there

BY AIR

images

There are direct flights to London from all over the world. London has two main airports, Heathrow and Gatwick, with smaller airports at Luton, Stansted and London City (Docklands). There are train links to Paris and Brussels, and good road links to the Channel ports.

BY TRAIN

Visitors from Europe can come by train through the Channel Tunnel. Foot passengers can use the Eurostar trains (images 08705 186186; www.eurostar.com), which offer a direct link between Paris or Brussels and London (St Pancras International) in under three hours. The car-carrying train Eurotunnel (images 08705 35 35 35; www.eurotunnel.com) operates between Calais in France and Folkestone in England and takes around 35 minutes.
