Mama Smith’s Pear Delight

1 (15-ounce) can pears

1 cup reserved pear syrup

1 (3-ounce) box lime gelatin

1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup whipping cream

In a small saucepan over medium heat bring the pear syrup to a boil. Remove from the heat immediately. In a medium-size mixing bowl dissolve the gelatin in the pear syrup. In a medium bowl thoroughly mix the pears and the cream cheese. In a small bowl beat the whipping cream. Add the whipped cream to the pear mixture and add the dissolved gelatin. Pour into a 9 × 13-inch casserole dish or a mold. Place in the refrigerator and allow the salad to congeal.
