Acorn Squash

2 acorn squash

⅔ cup cracker crumbs

½ cup butter, melted

3 teaspoons light brown sugar

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Preheat the oven to 350°. Cut the squash in half and remove the seeds. Place on a large baking sheet. In a medium-size mixing bowl combine the cracker crumbs, butter, sugar, salt, and nutmeg. Mix thoroughly. Spoon equal amounts of this mixture into the cavities of the squash halves. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until tender and brown.

Hint: Add 1 pound ground beef or 1 pound ground sausage to the filling in this dish for a wonderful main course. The squash is also good topped with Stove Top Stuffing.
