Serve this over rice with some corn bread for a great dish.
2 slices bacon
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (14.5-ounce) can whole tomatoes, cut coarsely
1 (10-ounce) package frozen or fresh okra
Salt and pepper
In a heavy skillet on medium heat fry the bacon slices. Remove from the skillet. Drain on a paper towel. Sauté the onion in the bacon grease. Add the tomatoes and the okra. Crumble the bacon into the mixture. Season with the salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
