Hamburger Stroganoff

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped (about ½ cup)

¼ cup (½ stick) butter or margarine

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic salt or 1 garlic clove, minced

¼ teaspoon pepper

1 (8-ounce) can mushrooms, drained

1 (10¾-ounce) can cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

2 cups hot cooked noodles

Snipped parsley

In a large skillet on medium-high heat cook and stir the ground beef and onion in the butter until the onion is tender. Turn the heat to medium. Stir in the flour, salt, garlic salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat. Stir in the soup. Turn the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Stir in the sour cream. Heat through. Pour over the noodles, and sprinkle with the snipped parsley to serve.
