Sugar-cured hams are fully cooked, and although it is not necessary to heat the ham when serving this meat as a main course, doing so brings out the full flavor of the ham.
1 (15 to 18-pound) sugar-cured ham
Preheat the oven to 350°. Place the ham on a roasting pan and cook for 1 to 1½ hours depending on the size of the ham. Serve hot.
Hint: When you’ve finished eating the ham, make sure you save the ham bone to season greens or beans. Old Southern cooks would almost kill for ham bones.
