3 tablespoons granulated sugar
¾ cup (1½ sticks) butter, melted
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16-ounce) container whipped topping
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 (3-ounce) boxes strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 (10-ounce) packages frozen strawberries
Preheat the oven to 400°. In a large bowl mix the pretzels, granulated sugar, and butter. Pour the mixture into a 9 × 13-inch pan and bake for 8 minutes. Set aside to cool.
In a medium-size bowl with an electric mixer beat the cream cheese, whipped topping, and confectioners’ sugar. Pour this over the cooled pretzel crust.
In a medium bowl dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water. Stir until the gelatin is dissolved completely. Add the frozen strawberries and stir until the berries are no longer frozen. Pour the strawberries over the cream cheese mixture and refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
