Brown Sugar Pound Cake

1 (16-ounce) box light brown sugar

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup shortening

½ cup (1 stick) margarine

5 large eggs

1 cup self-rising flour

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

½ teaspoon maple flavoring

¾ cup chopped pecans

Preheat the oven to 325°. In a mixing bowl beat the brown sugar, granulated sugar, shortening, and margarine. Add the eggs one at a time. Mix well after each addition. Alternately add the flour and milk. Add the vanilla, maple flavoring, and pecans. Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan for 1½ hours.
