Mamie Eisenhower’s Million-Dollar Fudge

4½ cups granulated sugar

Pinch of salt

2 tablespoons butter

1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk

1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate bits

1 (12-ounce) box Baker’s German’s sweet chocolate

1 pint marshmallow creme

2 cups chopped pecans

In a saucepan on medium heat combine the sugar, salt, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil and boil for 6 minutes. In a mixing bowl mix together the semisweet chocolate, the German chocolate, marshmallow creme, and pecans. Pour the boiling syrup over the ingredients. Beat until the chocolate is melted. Pour into a 9 × 13-inch pan. Let stand a few hours before cutting. Cut into 1-inch squares.
