Peggy Hawkins, our events manager, often serves this delicious punch for special holiday events at Magnolia Hall. It is a favorite every time it is served.
1 quart (4 cups) eggnog
1 (1-liter) bottle chilled club soda
½ gallon softened peppermint ice cream
Hard peppermint candies, crushed
In a punch bowl, stir together the eggnog, club soda, and peppermint ice cream. Sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candies and serve immediately. The punch may be made ahead without the crushed peppermint candies; chill for 2 hours, stir well, and sprinkle with the candies just before serving.
Hint: Hang peppermint candy canes on the rim of the punch bowl, if desired, and sprinkle with shaved semisweet chocolate.
