This delightfully festive punch will fill the house with the aromas of the holidays and will certainly let guests know that the holidays have arrived.
2 teaspoons whole allspice
2 teaspoons whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
2 quarts (8 cups) apple cider
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups orange juice
1½ cups lemon juice
1 cup water
Tie the allspice, cloves, and cinnamon sticks in a piece of cheesecloth. In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring the cider and sugar to a boil. Add the spice bag and reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove and discard the spice bag. Stir in the orange juice, lemon juice, and water. Simmer for 5 minutes or until heated. Serve hot.
