There’s something about bananas that makes hot cereals especially tasty. Slow cooking them with the oatmeal intensifies the flavors.
Makes 6 servings.
5 cups water
1 cup steel-cut oats
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 ripe bananas, peeled and mashed
Sliced bananas for topping
1. Spray inside of slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray to coat the bottom and sides.
2. Stir water, oats, brown sugar, and mashed bananas together, then pour into the prepared slow cooker. Cook on Low for 6 hours.
3. Stir before serving, and top with sliced bananas.
