Egg, Cheese, and Sausage Casserole

Makes 8 servings.

14 slices whole grain, soft sandwich bread

1/2 pound turkey sausage, browned and drained twice to remove as much fat as possible

21/2 cups grated low-fat cheddar cheese

12 eggs

21/4 cups low-fat milk

1 teaspoon salt

1. Spray inside of slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.

2. Break up or cut bread into large squares. Layer bread, sausage, and cheese until ingredients are used up.

3. Beat eggs, milk, and salt together. Pour egg mixture into crockpot. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 12 hours.
