McIntyre, Thomas
LDS. Scottish-born American, 1833–1914, a native of Edinburgh. Upon his baptism as a Latter-day Saint in 1854, he became director of the Latter-day Saint choir in Edinburgh. He emigrated to Utah in 1859, traveling by handcart to the Salt Lake Valley. He did many kinds of work, including printing for the Deseret News, and played French horn in the theater orchestra. He formed a band that played in many Utah cities, and for many years he sang in the Tabernacle Choir.
