Miller, Roger L.
LDS. American, born 1937. A native of Idaho Falls, Idaho, he showed early musical talent as a singer, pianist, and organist. He received his bachelor and master of arts degrees from Brigham Young University and his doctorate in musicology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as a missionary in
Hawaii. He has taught music in public schools, at BYU, and at CWRU. At the University of Chicago he pursued additional graduate study in near eastern languages and civilizations. Later he was an editor of the Scriptures Lexicon for the LDS Church Translation Division. Now Professor Emeritus of the University of Utah School of Music, he writes program continuity for the Tabernacle Choir. He is a former member of the Choir and of the General Music Committee of the Church.
