Pinborough, Jan Underwood
LDS. American, born 1954 in Midland, Texas. She received a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in linguistics from Brigham Young University. She became an editor in the Curriculum Department of the Church in 1979, an assistant editor of the Ensign in 1983, an associate editor of the Church’s international magazines in 1986, and assistant managing editor of the Friend in 2008. She has published many articles and several song texts in the Church magazines and co-authored a book for young adult women. She has served on the General Music Committee of the Church and as a member of writing committees for Relief Society manuals, the Family Home Evening Resource Book, and a Teachings of Presidents of the Church manual. She has served as president of ward Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women organizations. She and her husband, Thomas Vince Pinborough, have two daughters.
