Thompson, R. Paul
LDS. American, 1926–2007. Born in St. George, Utah, he served two years in the United States Navy and then obtained bachelor and master of arts degrees in music from Brigham Young University. He received further training in the education of the blind at BYU, Utah State University, the University of Utah, and San Francisco State University. He was instructor and principal at the Utah School for the Blind and branch chief of the programs for the severely handicapped for the United States Department of Education. Church service included a mission in the North Central States, membership on the MIA General Board, and a calling as a Regional Representative. He and his wife, Geniel Parry, were parents of eight children.
