Wheelock, Cyrus Hibbard

LDS. American, 1813–1894. A native of New York, he was baptized a Latter-day Saint in 1839. A friend of Joseph Smith, he was one of the last members of the Church to visit Carthage jail before the martyrdom (see History of the Church, 7:99–101). He filled a mission in Vermont and traveled to England with Parley P. Pratt for additional missionary work. He also served as president of the Northern States Mission.
