Durham, Thomas L.
LDS. American, born 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is descended from a long line of Latter-day Saint musicians, beginning with his great-grandfather, Thomas Durham, a member of the ill-fated Martin Handcart Company of 1856. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music at the University of Utah and then attended the University of Iowa where he earned a doctorate in music composition. He is associate professor of music at Brigham Young University. He is married to Rebecca Christensen, and they are the parents of three children. His principal musical interest is church music, and he has published several compositions and arrangements.
