RUSTIC WINTER
WHITE BEAN SPREAD

MAKES ABOUT 1½ CUPS

1½ cups cooked shell beans, such as cannellini, or one 15-ounce can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained

3 garlic cloves, chopped

Juice of 1 lemon (about 3 tablespoons)

½ cup freshly torn basil leaves

¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil

Freshly ground black pepper

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and toss to blend. Serve at room temperature.
