pass the time among friends, as on some factory floors talking
was not allowed. Money was hard earned and you had to reach
your quota of pieces or garments made to get your bonus. The
supervisor was feared and jobs were often ranked in order of
your starting date or expertise – last in made the tea!
Staff of the T-Clothing factory, which was situated on Francis Street, 1956. This factory was
part of the Glen Abbey Group and it made clothing, including vests and underwear.
