GOING UP
Debbie lived on the sixteenth floor of a tower block. Normally she travelled with Janet, but one day she went out alone. She took the lift to the ground floor and caught the bus. On her return, however, she got the lift to the fifth floor only, and then walked up to the sixteenth floor. There was nothing wrong with the lift, and she would really rather not have had to make that long walk. What was the explanation for her odd behaviour?
