ONE HUNDRED UP
Josie and Becky were playing a game. They took it in turns to play, and at each turn they named a whole number from one to ten, inclusive, and kept a running total of the numbers they had chosen. The loser was the first person to reach 100 or more.
Becky started the game by calling ‘seven’. Josie followed with ‘four’, so the total was now 11.
Becky’s next move was to say ‘three’.
Josie knew she was onto a winning strategy. What number did she call next?
