TWIN TEABAGS

Bill stores tea bags in a jar. The type of tea bag he uses comes joined in pairs. Every morning he makes himself a cuppa. Sometimes he reaches into the jar and finds he has pulled out a double tea bag, in which case he tears one off for his mug and throws the other back in the jar. Other times he pulls out a single one, in which case he just pops it in his mug. And when the jar is empty, he fills it up with another box of 40.

Bill is just back from holiday and can’t remember how full the tea bag jar is. He is about to reach into the jar when he says to himself: ‘Hmm... am I more likely to pull out a single bag or a double? Since double tea bags are twice as big as singles, I’m more likely to pull out a double.’

Is he right? Or is he more likely to pick out a single?
