Although this story is fictitious, the reality of verbally abusive relationships is not. If you or someone you know is experiencing this, please reach out for help. You don’t have to suffer in silence. A good starting resource is the book The Verbally Abusive Relationship by Patricia Evans. Counseling will also likely be needed to fully recover.
