Royal Icing Decorations

Royal icing decorations are perfect for adding embellishments to cakes and cupcakes. They can be made months in advance – but at least one day before you are planning to use them. Piped directly onto non-stick baking paper, the decorations are made up of layers of royal icing, the consistency of which should be soft peak in order to hold the shapes when piped.
