Hand-moulded Daffodils

1/// Colour the majority of the sugarpaste (fondant) yellow, but colour some of it orange for the trumpets.

Lightly dust the work surface with some icing (confectioners’) sugar. Roll out the yellow sugarpaste to a thickness of 2 mm (1/16 in). Cut out two star shapes with a calyx cutter.

2/// Make some indentions on the petals with a blade tool. Brush the centre of one shape with edible glue, then place the other on top diagonally across it and push down.

3/// To create the trumpet, make a cone with the orange sugarpaste and form the centre with a cone tool. Fix it into the centre of the flower with some edible glue and then curl the petals slightly around it.

Leave to dry before using.
