FRUIT SLUSHIES

A cooling treat for kids and adults.

YIELD: 4 ONE-CUP SERVINGS

3 dozen ice cubes

1 cup frozen juice concentrate (orange, apple, etc.)

squeeze of lemon juice

½ to 1 cup fruit juice or water

Drop ice cubes into a plastic bag; pound with a hammer to break the ice into smaller pieces (for easier blending). Place ice, frozen concentrate, and lemon juice in a blender. Process in short bursts, with the lid on, until ice is uniformly crushed. Add juice or water as needed to obtain desired consistency. Serve immediately in cups, with a spoon. Combine fruit juice flavours, or add whole strawberries or blueberries to the blender, for a pleasant variation.
