Pecan French Toast

This overnight, oven-baked French toast will win you raves!

1 loaf French bread, sliced

6 eggs

1-1/2 c. milk

1-1/2 c. half-and-half

1 t. vanilla extract

1/8 t. nutmeg

1 t. cinnamon

Arrange bread in a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan; set aside. Beat together remaining ingredients; pour over bread. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Spread topping over mixture; bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6 to 8.

Topping:

1/2 c. butter, softened

2 T. maple syrup

1 c. brown sugar, packed

1 c. chopped pecans

Mix all ingredients together.

Whip up tasty maple butter in no time...yummy on pancakes or French toast. Just combine 1/2 cup butter with 3/4 cup maple syrup.
