Full of flavor, but not too hot & spicy.
2 c. biscuit baking mix
1/2 c. water
1 lb. ground beef
1 green pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/8 t. garlic powder
8-oz. can tomato sauce
1-1/4 oz. pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. sour cream
1/3 c. mayonnaise-type salad dressing
1/4 t. paprika
Garnish: sour cream, chopped tomatoes, chopped lettuce, chopped onion
Mix biscuit baking mix and water; spread in lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 minutes; remove from oven and set aside. Brown together ground beef, green pepper, onion and garlic powder; drain and stir in tomato sauce and taco seasoning. Spread mixture over crust. Stir together cheese, sour cream and salad dressing; spoon over beef mixture and sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 375 degrees for an additional 25 minutes. Cut into squares; garnish with sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce and onion. Makes 12 to 15 servings.
