Try substituting broccoli for cauliflower...just as delicious.
3 c. cooked ham, cubed
3 c. cauliflower flowerets, cooked
1-1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste
2 T. butter
2 T. all-purpose flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 T. dry bread crumbs
Combine ham, cauliflower and mushrooms in an ungreased 3-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and set aside. Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until thickened. Stir in sour cream and cheese; continue cooking until cheese has melted and sauce is smooth. Set aside; pour sauce over top of ham mixture. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until heated through. Serves 6.
Serve up fresh veggies on seaside skewers...a whimsical summertime surprise. Purchase assorted shells from a crafts store; wash well, then glue onto wooden skewers. Slide on cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, mushrooms and cheese cubes along with a variety of sauces for dipping.
