A rich-tasting blend of cheese and sausage.
1 lb. ground Italian sausage
8-oz. can tomato sauce
10-oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
2 c. cottage cheese
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten
2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat; stir in tomato sauce and heat through. Set aside. Combine spinach, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese and egg in a large bowl. Mix well and spread into a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan. Spoon sausage mixture over spinach mixture and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serves 8.
