Composition of the Quantitative Section

Slightly less than half of the multiple-choice questions that count toward your overall score appear in the Quantitative (math) section. You’ll have 62 minutes to answer 31 Quantitative questions in two formats: Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency. These two types of questions are mingled throughout the Quantitative section, so you never know what’s coming next. Here’s what you can expect to see:

You may see more of one question type and fewer of the other due to the test’s somewhat random selection of questions.
