Tabs consist of reference information that you will find useful as you go about the business of being a Sailor:
• much like appendices in traditional books
• designed to be referred to for specific information rather than completely read
• identified by numbers corresponding to the associated chapter and letters for reference purposes
• also identified by a title that briefly describes what it contains
Introductory Tabs (identified by a number only) provide some additional material, including a listing of major topics related to the Tab and its associated chapter and lists of additional references for those who care to learn more about the topics covered.
