Note: Many periodicals, organizations, and suppliers pertain to livestock raising; the lists below are just a sampling of the major sources. Many more can be found online. In addition, numerous organizations are dedicated to specific breeds; a quick Internet search will reveal them.
For more information or help with a specific problem or question, contact your county Extension agent, state Extension service, state agriculture education and FFA program, state Department of Agriculture, specialists at land grant colleges, or your local library. For updated addresses of organizations and publications, consult a recent edition of the Directory of American Agriculture (published by Agricultural Resources & Communications, Inc., 785-456-9705, www.agresources.com), available through your library.
For more information about the livestock you are interested in and programs in your area, contact the Cooperative Extension Service in your state. This program is affiliated with each of the nation’s land-grant universities and the U.S. Department of Agriculture and can provide information on a wide range of topics.

The American Rabbit Breeders Association publishes an excellent bimonthly magazine, Domestic Rabbits, that comes free with ARBA membership. Additionally, for each recognized breed, a newsletter and a guidebook is produced by the specialty club devoted to their particular breed and sent to club members. Contact information for these breed-specialty clubs and for hundreds of state, regional, and local breeder associations, many of which also publish newsletters and maintain websites, can be found in the ARBA Yearbook, which is included in ARBA membership.

Your area farm supply and feed dealers are likely sources of prefabricated rabbit hutches, feeding and watering equipment, and other items such as welded wire mesh and the clips, rings, and pliers used for hutch assembly. You might also find hutches and accessories at pet stores, but prices there are apt to be much higher than those at the farm stores.
