Quite a while ago my friend and colleague Dr. Stephen Sinatra sent me a short write-up of the story of Tommy Rosa and his near death experience. And how what Tommy learned in Heaven confirmed what he did in his cardiology practice. He said that a book project was in the works. Intrigued, I kept this article nearby in a place where I could easily find it again. And I looked forward to reading the whole story. As a physician, bringing the wisdom of Heaven down to Earth was right up my alley. And I looked forward to reading the book. When the eagerly awaited manuscript for Health Revelations from Heaven arrived, I kept that manuscript in my bedroom—where the article had been—for months. I didn’t want to lose track of it. I read every word. Even though it wasn’t yet in fully edited form.
I receive countless manuscripts from individuals who are looking for endorsements. This one was different. This one—even in its infancy—found its way into my bedroom and never left—until the actual book became a reality. I can count on one hand the number of books that have affected me like this. I always know that when I can’t seem to put a manuscript out of sight—where I might forget about it—I’m supposed to pay attention.
Here’s what is so special about Health Revelations from Heaven. It’s the experience of a kind-hearted regular guy—Tommy—a plumber from the Bronx—who had no prior knowledge of near death experiences. He had no preconceived notions about health or spirituality. He was brought up Catholic, and when he told his priest about his experience in Heaven, the priest didn’t believe him. So the very person who should have been the most sympathetic couldn’t hear it. How often good-hearted honest people like Tommy have experiences that don’t fit the norm and, therefore, have had those experiences discounted by the authority figures to whom they’ve gone for validation. Many! And Tommy had to work through that. And the self-doubt that followed. And he writes about learning to trust himself and his experience.
Before reading Tommy and Stephen’s book, I had had this notion that a near death experience would reset your life and health for good. Because you would know that there is no death. And you would also value your life enough to change any adverse habits. That’s what some of the near death literature I’ve read had suggested.
But with Tommy, it was a different story. Despite being dead and coming back, he still found that he had lifestyle habits that he needed to overcome—specifically his weight problem and heart issues. Turns out that there is no “instant” solution for one of life’s most vexing problems. Weight gain. When I had Tommy as a guest on my radio show, he said that he never did drugs or drank alcohol. But he had always loved food. He ended up in the hospital with heart problems resulting in part from his excess weight. The lesson here is that no matter who you’ve met in Heaven—and in Tommy’s case, it was Jesus—you still have to do the work of being in a body on planet Earth! That was somehow comforting once you know that there’s no getting around the work we came here to do.
Tommy writes about how, when he found out that the teacher he had in Heaven was Jesus, he had trouble accepting it. Why him? Why would a soul as advanced as Jesus want anything to do with him? This is such a universal conundrum for so many of us. Who are we to deserve such profound divine guidance and love? Tommy acknowledges that his self-esteem and self-love issues were his biggest challenges. And I know that this is true for most of us. As Dr. Bernie Siegel wrote in Love, Medicine & Miracles, “I’ve come to see that the fundamental problem most patients face is the inability to love themselves.” No kidding.
One of the other astonishing parts of this book was how he and Dr. Stephen Sinatra met. Tommy knew that Dr. Sinatra, a metabolic cardiologist, could help him with his heart problem. What he didn’t know was how he would meet him. It’s a story that only Spirit could have organized. A perfect combination of science and intuition involving a supplement called Serrapeptase, which, quite frankly, I had never heard of until I read this book. And imagine what it was like for Dr. Sinatra to find out from Tommy that his approach to heart health and metabolic cardiology were validated by what Tommy was told in Heaven. Amazing.
At this time in history, literally millions of people are suffering from heart disease, obesity, and low self-esteem. The key to helping all of them is in this book. Not only is it full of uplifting spiritual revelations, there is also a very practical section by Dr. Stephen Sinatra that outlines a program to help heal the heart—physically.
There are no shortcuts here on Earth. And we all have to address all parts of ourselves—body, mind, and spirit. Even when we are no longer afraid of death and know that who we really are doesn’t die. But while we’re in a body, we have to do the work. But we don’t have to do it alone. And we don’t have to figure it all out on our own. In Health Revelations from Heaven, Tommy Rosa and Dr. Stephen Sinatra share both an incredible account of life in Heaven after death—but also a practical guidebook for how to live wholeheartedly while still on Earth in a body, including practical diet and supplement guidelines. It is so encouraging to realize that there is so much more to life than we have been led to believe. And that there are wonders in this universe beyond our ability to perceive them but which make life such a pleasure and a miracle when you know about them.
