You may have noticed, dear reader, that the Wild Wisdom Collection was published with one book hot on the heels of the next. It feels like I just wrote Thank-Yous for the Bestiary. As Andrew and I were walking our own beasts recently, I said, How am I going to write something new in the thank-you section? But even as the words were coming out of my mouth, I realized something major and miraculous has happened: YOU. These books could not exist without you. When I began writing, it was impossible to know how this collection would be received. But the response has been mind-boggling. So, whoever you are and wherever you are, I thank you from the bottom of my garnet- and morganite-encrusted heart. Writing these books has been the kind of crazy adventure we all hope to have in our lives, and I still wake up going, Wait! Me???

Now, for a stupid amount of gratitude: Kate, your art! Thank you for pouring so much energy and love into each illustration. It’s been amazing to work on multiple books with the same team at Storey: I so appreciate all of you. More and more I know that these books are a many-person creation, and all of you midwife them into the world. Deborah, Liz, Jessica, Alee, and everyone working behind the scenes, huge thanks.

Much gratitude to my agent, Laura Lee Mattingly, at Present Perfect Dept. I’ve got plans . . . I’m sure you’re not surprised!

My ridiculously smooth transition to author has been made possible by the inimitable Shannon Thayer, who carries all the balls (there really aren’t enough thank-yous, so I’ll keep doling them out).

Sarah Thomas, Caroline Padgett, and the “stonalists”: Getting to geek out over rocks, fill my head with ancient teachings, laugh at Sarah’s corny jokes, and do yummy guided meditations with Caroline was my idea of a couple of perfect weekends.

Stephanie, at Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy, thanks for stepping in and making the science sensible — I needed that (and so did the book!).

Another book and I still haven’t succumbed to the I’m-writing-a-book-so-I-don’t-need-to-shower-or-get-dressed pitfall. And that’s thanks to Rebecca, Camille, Paige, Ash, and Marianne. You’re all on a five-week rotation so you may not realize how much those lunch dates mean but, trust me, they keep me sane.

And always, always thanks to Andrew for all the daily doings that help me to be my best self. xo
