ASIAN BANQUET

I have chosen a few of my favourite Asian dishes that work well together in a shared banquet style. As with the rest of the recipes in this book, the strength of the dish lies in using quality, fresh ingredients. Add some Asian-style seasoning and you’re set. Home cooks often feel this type of cooking is beyond them, but nothing could be further from the truth. Start with a couple of the easier recipes and build on your experience and soon you will be sending four or five dishes to the table with a lovely bowl of steamed rice. Pick and choose your Asian dishes so they balance well together – something steamed, something stir-fried and perhaps a braise, and mix up the proteins. Plenty of other Asian dishes in this book work well in a banquet too – feel free to substitute the following dishes with your favourites.
