Hello Dearest Readers!

Thank you for choosing to read my book! There are truly some lovely stories out there and your choice makes me all the more appreciative! This is my fourth book with Aria and there are many more in the making!

Like my heroine, interior designer Faith Hudson, I am obsessed with houses.

When I was six years old and visiting my extended family in Italy one summer, I remember peering through the wrought-iron gates of the house next door, utterly fascinated.

Perhaps it was the archway of purple bougainvillea. Or perhaps it was the beautiful front garden, or the fact that through the open front door I could see all the way to the back of the house where there were another two gardens, but I remember thinking how lucky those people were to live in such a large house with so much greenery in the centre of the village. I also remember thinking that I would never be able to have a house like that.

This week, my DH and I will be exchanging contracts on that very house. Who could have ever imagined that after having lived and worked in three different countries, I’d end up right back next door to my Nana’s old home?

Despite it being the house of our dreams, it took us three years to get there. And just like for Faith Hudson, moving was an ordeal, especially if you think that the DH and I went from living for two years among stacks of boxes (he did most of the packing, bless him) to rattling around once the house had been completely emptied, as we still couldn’t move due to a glitch in the paperwork.

I am thankful to all the friends and family who have morally supported us throughout this nightmare. Very soon we will be moving in and making more happy memories with them.

This is also the year I met my brilliant editor, Martina Arzu, who has the patience and kindness of an angel. Many thanks to you, Martina, for understanding me and supporting me!

This year also sees the release of my books agented by the uber-brilliant Lorella Belli, owner of the LBLA. Lorella, what would your authors do without you? Thank you for being on board!

This year I also managed to write a movie script with the consultation of a new friend. It is now in the works!

But most importantly, someone very dear to me has given me some great personal news and I feel that with this year we have finally turned the corner in many ways.

I hope that you also feel you have accomplished more than you’d hoped for and that this year is your best yet.

Thank you for spending your free time with me!

Sincerely,

Nancy Barone
