DAY 27

SICKNESS IS OF THE DEVIL

And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
—JOB 2:2, NKJV

SATAN IS ALWAYS trying to prove that we serve God for what we can get. Satan indicates God’s claims of Job’s righteousness were untested, so Job’s relationship with God was a sham. Satan was confident that he could turn Job against God. Satan thought he could destroy Job’s faith in God by inflicting suffering and sickness on him; but God’s saving faith cannot be shattered or broken. Job’s faith in God never failed.

Satan tried to do the same to Peter (Luke 22:31–34), but was unsuccessful in destroying Peter’s faith (John 21:15–19). When Satan unleashed all that he had, he still could not destroy Job’s nor Peter’s faith; it always stood firm (Rom. 8:31–39).

What would you do in Job’s situation?

Let Us Pray!

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Word to heal me and deliver me from all destructions. Jesus, You bore my griefs (pains) and carried my sorrows (sickness). My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I desire to be in good health.

In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen!
