DAY 39

A LIVING SACRIFICE

WHEN YOU LIVE to please God, you will not be squeezed into the world’s mold. You’ll be transformed into the image of Jesus. Today is the day to offer your body as a living sacrifice to God. You do not have to fight the war between your flesh and spirit. Instead, lay down your desires to fulfill your flesh, so you can fulfill God’s desires (Rom. 12:1–2). God is calling us to give ourselves to Him (John 12:26). We cannot serve the flesh and serve Jesus at the same time. We must make a decision—are you going to please yourself or the Father? We are to crucify our flesh and bring it into obedience to God.

Read: Romans 12:1–2; Ephesians 4:22–32; Ephesians 5:1–21

What does Romans 12 mean when it defines “reasonable service” as offering our bodies as a living sacrifice?

What are some of the things Ephesians 4 tells us to do or put away from us?

How shall we be imitators of God?

How shall we walk?

Let Us Pray!

Father God, help me to escape the corruption in this present evil world by walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh, to choose life and not death and healing over sickness, and to believe in You.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
