DAY 40

GOD’S GREAT MERCY

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
—PSALM 145:8–9

NOTHING REVEALS THE character of God more than these two scriptures. If you look up the words compassion and mercy, you will find the Hebrew or Greek word translates compassion as “mercy” and mercy as “compassion.” Therefore, to have mercy means to have compassion! God is full of compassion; He is of great mercy and His tender mercies are over all of His works.

Read: Mark 1:40–45

List other ways Jesus showed compassion.

Is God still merciful?

Let Us Pray!

Dear Father God, I receive Your mercy and compassion to heal me. I am the saved, I am the healed. The power of sickness over my life has been forever broken. Jesus bore my sickness, my weakness, and pain. Therefore, I am free and I am redeemed from the curse. I receive Your blessing and I proclaim my freedom.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
